Description

A comforting bowl of spicy ramen that’s quick to prepare and customizable with various toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packages ramen noodles
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon gochugaru (red chili pepper flakes)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • Optional Toppings: Soft-boiled eggs, bean sprouts, spinach, nori (seaweed)

Instructions

  1. Heat the sesame oil over medium heat in a pot.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté until fragrant—about a minute!
  3. Stir in the gochugaru and cook for another minute to release its flavor.
  4. Pour in the broth and soy sauce, bringing the mixture to a rolling boil.
  5. Toss in the ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions.
  6. Serve hot, topped with chopped green onions and your favorite optional toppings.

Notes

For milder taste, reduce gochugaru. Store broth and noodles separately for leftovers.
