Description

A creamy, tangy homemade remoulade sauce with pickles, capers, garlic, mustard, and gentle heat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped dill pickles
  • 1 tablespoon capers, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely grated or minced
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Creole or Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce, optional
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Chop the pickles, capers, parsley, and garlic finely.
  2. Whisk mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Creole seasoning, paprika, black pepper, and hot sauce.
  3. Stir in the pickles, capers, parsley, and garlic.
  4. Taste and adjust lemon juice, hot sauce, pickle juice, or salt.
  5. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Stir before serving; thin with lemon juice or water if needed.

Notes

Use full-fat mayonnaise for the smoothest texture.
Taste before adding salt because capers, pickles, mustard, and seasoning may be salty.
Store airtight in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
