Description

A quick and delicious Mongolian Chicken recipe featuring savory and sweet flavors, perfect for a weeknight dinner or special gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, warm the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced chicken breast. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until it’s crispy and fully cooked through.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger until combined.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken to coat. Stir well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated.
  5. If using, add the sliced bell peppers and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Top with chopped green onions and serve hot.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using skinless chicken thighs or tamari sauce for gluten-free. You can customize the dish with other veggies such as broccoli or snap peas.
