Description

A creamy and flavorful Indian dish featuring tender chicken in a spiced tomato sauce, perfect for sharing with family or friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
  • 100ml heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Dried fenugreek leaves (Kasuri methi) for garnish
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting your chicken breast into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
  2. In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Introduce the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for about a minute until fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle in the garam masala and chili powder; stir for another minute to release the spices’ aroma.
  5. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and allow it to simmer for 10 minutes, letting the flavors meld.
  6. Add the chicken pieces to the sauce, cooking until they are no longer pink in the center.
  7. Finally, stir in the heavy cream and salt to taste, allowing it to simmer for an additional 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with dried fenugreek leaves and fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

Feel free to substitute heavy cream with coconut milk for a lighter option.
