- 500g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
- 100ml heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Dried fenugreek leaves (Kasuri methi) for garnish
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Start by cutting your chicken breast into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
- In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Introduce the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for about a minute until fragrant.
- Sprinkle in the garam masala and chili powder; stir for another minute to release the spices’ aroma.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and allow it to simmer for 10 minutes, letting the flavors meld.
- Add the chicken pieces to the sauce, cooking until they are no longer pink in the center.
- Finally, stir in the heavy cream and salt to taste, allowing it to simmer for an additional 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and garnish with dried fenugreek leaves and fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
Feel free to substitute heavy cream with coconut milk for a lighter option.
