Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in the ground beef, cooking until browned and fully cooked.
  4. Next, add the diced tomatoes, beef broth, and orzo to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.

Notes

For variation, swap ground beef for turkey or add red pepper flakes for extra spice. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
