- 7 cups Chex cereal (divided)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (divided)
- 1 cup pink candy melts
- 1 cup red candy melts
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup Valentine’s Day M&Ms
- 2–4 tbsp Valentine’s Day sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare the Chex: Divide the 7 cups of Chex cereal into two bowls.
- Melt the Candy: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the pink candy melts and 1 tsp of vegetable oil. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring until fully melted.
- Coat the Cereal: Pour the melted pink candy over one bowl of Chex and gently fold to coat. If it hardens, microwave for another 15 seconds, then stir.
- Add Powdered Sugar: Transfer the coated Chex into a ziplock bag, add ½ cup of powdered sugar, and shake to coat.
- Set on Baking Sheet: Spread the mixture on a wax paper-lined baking sheet to cool.
- Repeat with Red Candy: Repeat steps 2-5 using the red candy melts and remaining Chex.
- Final Touches: Once the mixes are set (after about 30 minutes), combine them in a large bowl with the Valentine’s Day M&Ms and sprinkles.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Avoid refrigeration to maintain the candy coating’s texture.
