Description

A delicious sweet potato casserole topped with crunchy pecans, perfect for family gatherings or holiday feasts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups sweet potatoes, mashed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, melted butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until everything is smooth and well-mixed.
  3. Transfer the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the chopped pecans, flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/4 cup melted butter until you achieve a crumbly texture.
  5. Evenly spread the pecan crumble over the sweet potato mixture.
  6. Bake in your preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
  7. Allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Feel free to make substitutions! Use coconut milk for a dairy-free version or walnuts instead of pecans.
