Description

A creamy, indulgent dish with tender chicken breasts smothered in a rich sour cream and cheese sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish in a single layer.
  3. In a mixing bowl, blend together sour cream, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, cornstarch, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Top each chicken breast with a slice of mozzarella cheese.
  5. Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the chicken and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and cheese is golden.
  7. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a twist, consider adding spinach or sautéed mushrooms, or use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
