Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 2 cans beans (your choice: kidney, black, or pinto)
- 1 can chopped tomatoes (canned or fresh)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the meat, cooking until soft.
- Transfer the meat mixture to your slow cooker.
- Add the canned tomatoes, beans, and spices. Stir until well combined.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute meat with additional beans or mushrooms. Leftover chili can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or frozen for up to three months.
