Description

Ingredients

  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 6 peeled and diced potatoes
  • 2 diced carrots
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons chicken bouillon powder
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat and cook the chopped onion until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. In another pot, combine diced potatoes, carrots, water, and chicken bouillon powder; bring to a boil and cook until vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes. Season with black pepper.
  3. Add all-purpose flour to the cooked onions to create a paste, stirring for about 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring constantly, and cook over low heat until warmed through.
  5. Combine potato and carrot mixture with milk mixture, stir in dried parsley and thyme, and heat everything through.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley or freshly cracked pepper.

Notes

Choose starchy potatoes for a creamier texture. Blend a portion of the soup for thickness or add spices like garlic powder for unique flavors.
