- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened.
- Add the ground beef to the pot and cook until it’s browned.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper, mixing well to coat the beef.
- Add the drained kidney beans, black beans, and diced tomatoes (with their juice) to the pot.
- If you prefer a thinner chili, pour in the beef broth.
- Allow the mixture to simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For extra heat, consider adding chopped jalapeños or a few dashes of hot sauce during cooking. Let the chili sit for a few hours or overnight for even better flavors.
