Description

A comforting and hearty Instant Pot chili that combines ground beef, beans, and spices for a quick and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Set the Instant Pot to ‘Sauté’ mode and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, then drain any excess fat.
  2. Toss in the diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Mix in chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Stir well to ensure even distribution.
  5. Close the lid of the Instant Pot, setting it to ‘High Pressure’ for 15 minutes.
  6. Once the time is up, allow for a natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then perform a quick release for any remaining pressure.
  7. Stir the chili one last time before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or plant-based meat. Can be served with cornbread, cheese, sour cream, or fresh cilantro.
