Description
A healthy, creamy twist on traditional ice cream featuring flavorful salted caramel and protein-rich cottage cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: chocolate chips or nuts for topping
Instructions
- Start by placing the cottage cheese, heavy cream, caramel sauce, salt, and vanilla extract into a blender. Blend everything until the mixture is utterly smooth and creamy.
- Taste it! If you desire a little more sweetness or saltiness, now’s your chance to adjust.
- Transfer your mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, which usually takes about 20-25 minutes.
- Don’t worry if you don’t have an ice cream maker. Just pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container, and give it a good stir every 30 minutes until it’s fully frozen.
- Serve the creamy ice cream in bowls and top with chocolate chips or nuts to add some crunch and extra flavor.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use non-dairy alternatives for cottage cheese and cream. Consider using homemade caramel sauce for a richer flavor.
