- 1 pound ground sausage
- 1 box lasagna noodles
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 3 cups tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned, draining excess fat.
- Boil the lasagna noodles in a large pot until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Mix cottage cheese with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
- Layer noodles, cooked sausage, tomato sauce, and cottage cheese mixture in a baking dish. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with tomato sauce and mozzarella on top.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute sausage with sautéed vegetables. This dish is freezer-friendly and can be stored for up to 3 months.
