Description

A delightful blend of classic lasagna flavors with the nutritional benefits of cottage cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 box lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 3 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned, draining excess fat.
  3. Boil the lasagna noodles in a large pot until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  4. Mix cottage cheese with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
  5. Layer noodles, cooked sausage, tomato sauce, and cottage cheese mixture in a baking dish. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with tomato sauce and mozzarella on top.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute sausage with sautéed vegetables. This dish is freezer-friendly and can be stored for up to 3 months.
