Description

A hearty sandwich made with savory ground beef, sweet sautéed onions, and gooey melted cheese served on toasted hoagie rolls.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup cheese (provolone or Cheez Whiz)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they soften, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet and brown evenly, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Drain excess fat from the pan.
  4. Sprinkle cheese over the beef mixture and allow it to melt, about 3 minutes.
  5. Toast hoagie rolls until golden.
  6. Spoon the beef and cheese mixture into each roll and serve immediately.

Notes

Consider serving with crispy fries or a side salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
