- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 cup cheese (provolone or Cheez Whiz)
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they soften, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and brown evenly, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Drain excess fat from the pan.
- Sprinkle cheese over the beef mixture and allow it to melt, about 3 minutes.
- Toast hoagie rolls until golden.
- Spoon the beef and cheese mixture into each roll and serve immediately.
Notes
Consider serving with crispy fries or a side salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
