Description

This Ground Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry is the ultimate fast, flavorful, and family-friendly meal. Made with juicy ground beef, crisp broccoli, and a sweet-savory sauce, it comes together in just 15 minutes perfect for weeknights or meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (85/15 for best flavor)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
  • 3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or thawed from frozen)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (or ½ tsp ground ginger)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari/coconut aminos)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (or maple syrup or honey)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • 23 tbsp water (for steaming broccoli)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, red pepper flakes, green onions

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Push the beef to one side of the pan. Add garlic and ginger; stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add broccoli and 2–3 tbsp water. Cover and steam for 2–3 minutes until broccoli is bright green and crisp-tender.
  4. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry (if using).
  5. Pour sauce into pan. Stir everything together and cook for 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
  6. Serve immediately over rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice. Garnish as desired.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcrowding the pan and don’t overcook the broccoli. Add sliced carrots, bell peppers, or snap peas for extra crunch. Want it spicy? Stir in chili paste or sriracha with the sauce.
