- 1/2 cup cottage cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Separate the eggs. In a clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
- In another bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, cottage cheese, salt, and optional cornstarch until smooth.
- Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the cottage cheese mixture in three parts, preserving the airiness.
- Spoon the mixture into 6 mounds on the lined baking sheet, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and firm. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Use room-temperature ingredients for best results. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage. Reheat in a toaster oven for best texture.
