Description

A quick and nutritious pasta dish with broccoli, garlic, and olive oil, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces of pasta (your choice)
  • 2 cups of broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until it’s al dente.
  2. In the last three minutes of cooking, toss in the broccoli florets.
  3. Drain the pasta and broccoli, making sure to reserve a cup of pasta water.
  4. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  5. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about a minute until the garlic is fragrant.
  6. Mix the drained pasta and broccoli into the skillet, blending everything well.
  7. If you find the mixture a tad dry, add a bit of your reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Serve with lemon zest or fresh herbs for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
