Tender beef chuck roast simmered in a flavorful blend of soy sauce, garlic, and spices, served in hoagie rolls with optional provolone cheese.

- 2 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup light soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 bay leaves
- 8 hoagie rolls
- Sliced provolone cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
- Add the sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the roast.
- In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves, salt, and pepper; pour this mixture over the roast.
- Cover and cook on low for about 480 minutes (8 hours) or until the meat is fork-tender.
- Once cooked, remove the roast from the slow cooker and shred the meat using two forks.
- Strain the broth and set it aside to serve as au jus for dipping.
- Toast the hoagie rolls, fill them with the shredded beef, and top with provolone cheese if desired. Serve with the au jus for dipping.
