Description
This Cottage Cheese Chocolate Mousse Protein is incredibly easy to whip up and only requires 3 ingredients. It’s high in protein and deliciously decadent—a fun way to stay full and satisfied with a sweet treat!
Ingredients
-
1 cup 2% cottage cheese
-
⅔ cup milk chocolate chips
-
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
Instructions
-
Pour the chocolate chips into a microwave-safe dish and microwave in 20–30 second increments, stirring in between each, until fully melted.
-
Next, add the cottage cheese, melted chocolate, and cocoa powder to a food processor or high-speed blender. Blend on high for 20–30 seconds. Scrape down the sides and blend again until smooth.
-
Spoon the mousse into a dish (or divide it into smaller individual dishes). You can eat it immediately, but for an even creamier and thicker texture, place it in the fridge for about 30 minutes to set.
-
Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a shaving of chocolate and your favorite fruit.
Notes
-
Use 2% cottage cheese for the best creamy texture.
-
Instead of milk chocolate chips, you can use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips.
-
Avoid white chocolate chips, as they may not melt properly and can cause a clumpy texture.
-
To make the mousse sweeter, add a teaspoon of maple syrup or honey and blend it up.
-
A splash of vanilla extract can enhance the flavor, but don’t use too much or it may make the mousse too liquidy.
-
If your cottage cheese is watery, drain it before adding to the blender for the best texture.
-
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.
