Description

A rich and creamy sweet potato casserole topped with crunchy pecans, perfect for holidays and family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cans yams
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the canned yams, melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, milk, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour this yam mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  4. In another bowl, mix chopped pecans, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter together to create the topping.
  5. Sprinkle the pecan mixture evenly over the yam layer.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a healthier version, substitute unsweetened almond milk for regular milk.
