- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) diced tomatoes
- 2 cans (15 ounces each) kidney beans, drained
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup beef broth
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato sauce, and beef broth until combined.
- Add chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to integrate all the spices.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes to develop the flavors.
- Toss in the chopped bell pepper and continue to simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve hot, and enjoy every spoonful!
Notes
Consider garnishing with shredded cheese, sour cream, or fresh cilantro. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
