Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken sausage
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a splash of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and sliced chicken sausage, cooking until the sausage is browned, approximately 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add the orzo pasta and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat to a simmer and add the broccoli florets, stirring to combine.
  7. Cook until the orzo is tender and the liquid is absorbed, about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
