Description

A comforting one-pan meal that combines tender shredded chicken, rich marinara sauce, and melted cheese for a quick and easy dinner option.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded (Rotisserie chicken recommended)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (Penne or rotini)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Toss in the shredded chicken along with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir for about 5 minutes until everything is warmed through.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, half of the Parmesan cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Mix until well combined.
  4. Add the seasoned chicken to the pasta mixture and stir until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Carefully remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

You can use whole wheat pasta or a low-carb alternative for healthier options. For variety, consider adding sautéed onions or bell peppers to the chicken mixture.
