- 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded (Rotisserie chicken recommended)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups cooked pasta (Penne or rotini)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Toss in the shredded chicken along with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir for about 5 minutes until everything is warmed through.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, half of the Parmesan cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Mix until well combined.
- Add the seasoned chicken to the pasta mixture and stir until evenly distributed.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Carefully remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
You can use whole wheat pasta or a low-carb alternative for healthier options. For variety, consider adding sautéed onions or bell peppers to the chicken mixture.
