Description

A comforting and hearty chili recipe featuring ground beef, beans, and a blend of spices, perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it’s browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and bell pepper. Cook until they’re soft.
  3. Mix in the garlic, chili powder, cumin, and paprika. Stir for about 1 minute to let the spices bloom.
  4. Pour in the diced tomatoes (with juice) and beans. Stir well to combine.
  5. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 20-30 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  6. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils or textured vegetable protein. Customize spice levels by adding cayenne pepper or hot sauce.
